How to Use Alia During Black Friday
Your popup should be a part of your Black Friday plan
Hey yall,
Shaan Arora here from Alia. ❤️
And I’m here to tell you how to use our popups during BFCM and the holiday season.
BTW - if you don’t wanna read this, you can just meet with us and we’ll personally get Alia ready for you for BFCM. Feel free to grab some time with Cory Gill (an Alia co-founder and BFCM savant) - https://calendly.com/corylgill/q4-prep
Now for our recommendations:
1. Collect emails while offering your site-wide discount
This is our favorite strategy for brands that do not want to offer a further discount during BFCM but still want to increase their opt-in rates.
Create, a creatine gummy brand, uses the Alia popup to collect emails while highlighting their site-wide discount.

The landing page already offers a 50% site-wide discount, so the popup simply announces the sale and encourages sign-ups.
Then, when a customer signs up, they are dropped back onto the site to shop. So, in this strategy, Create doesn't have to offer any additional discounts, but they're still able to grow their email list through an engaging popup.
Plus, the quiz in their popup allows them to segment their email list and send hyper-targeted emails based on customer preferences.
And here’s a video of us going through how Create uses Alia for the site-wide discount:
2. Educate your website visitors for more engagement
Here's the deal: Most people don't have a large attention span, especially when shopping.
If you're relying on blogs or lengthy content to educate your customers about your brand and products, it's likely that they are not reading it in the first place.
Therefore, if your products require a lot of knowledge, whatever information they need should be available to them as soon as they land on your website.
Firebelly Tea, a premier loose-leaf tea brand founded by Shopify President Harley Finkelstein, increased its email sign-up rate by 13% by gamifying the way customers learn about their brand. Not just that, they have a 30% conversion rate for visitors who engage with the popup on their homepage created with Alia.

Alia's popup allowed them to educate their customers with 1 min lessons where customers are rewarded with discounts for completing each lesson.
Here are some educational lessons you can implement in your store to increase conversions:

That’s all folks!
